The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth is a real-time strategy video game developed by EA Los Angeles for Microsoft Windows. It was released in December 6, 2004 and is based on Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, in turn based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s original novel.

How to play on Windows
- Click on the button. It should redirect you to your . Make sure you the file properly and that your internet does not disconnect while ing.
- Extract the “The Battle for Middle-earth” folder to your desktop.
- Open the “The Battle for Middle-earth” folder and then open the “Game Files” folder.
- Run the “Setup.exe” file and the game setup should launch. On higher resolution screens, you might not be able to see the full setup. In this case you can just press “Enter” on your keyboard to complete the setup. BFME 1 should begin installing on your computer.
- Once the game is installed, you can run the game from the desktop shortcut.
- Enjoy the game!

how do i change the resolution? what file?
It ask CD room: “please insert CD/DVD 1 in drive C:”
The others links (script in youtube) doesnt work.

When starting the game it says,
“you must run the game from its install directory”.
Where is that because it wont start now.
Not even from the program files or desktop.
Did you get a .bin (VLC) rather than .exe? Because that is all I got. When opening, it says “Your input can’t be opened”.
Have you looked in the Wiki? There’s some information on how to install games on windows and I suspect the step you’ve missed is to mount the .bin to access the installation program.
CANT INSTALL
Is it possible to edit the INI file like i used to on the CD version? to change states and values of heros etc
When I open the AutoRun, it asks me to insert CD??

Thanks for sharing this game, running smoothly, with high resolution on win 10.
Installed the game, but when I try to open, it pops up “The code execution cannot proceed because D3DX9_27.DLL was not found.”
How can I fix it? Thanks!!
You need to install DirectX 9 for the game to work
Alright so I’m having trouble getting the game started. So I ed it, extracted it out, and installed it. The menu came up and from then I couldn’t play the game even after the update. It won’t start from the menu. Is anyone else having this problem?
i start autorun, and then once the installation page comes up, i start it and it asks for the disk. i don’t have a disk drive

Works great, on my desktop I now have “BFME desktop” and “BFME” using BFME desktop makes the resolution unplayable, if I use “BFME” it’s playable but the resolution is pretty bad bu at least I can see everything and play without any issues. The reason I mention this is because it is written under the “how to play on windows” and I’m confused about the “In this case” part… is there another option to avoid all of this or…???
