Game Description
Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom and released for the PlayStation in 1998. The player controls Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens are transformed into zombies by a biological weapon two months after the events of the original Resident Evil. The gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzles, and combat; the main difference from its predecessor are the branching paths, with each player character having unique storylines and obstacles.

What a killer even for the original ree file. And misinformation at the top of pages with steam links. Will wait to see if corrected before I continue with the site
this game is very much still abandonware, the steam link is to the 2019 remake which is a completely different game 🙁
You guys must be mental to believe that this game isnt abandonware anymore, its a totally different game on steam
This OG PC port of Resident Evil 2 is still definitely abandonware, there is no way to buy this version of the game legally aside from an ever dwindling pool of second hand copies. needs to restore the and get rid of the Steam link that’s to a totally different game…
So I had the same issue of not being able to load my save game data. Easy fix for me at least after some digging. Go to properties on either ClarieP or LeonP or even Residentevil.exe and click compatibility and select compatibility mode Windows Xp service pack 2 and click apply and ok. Worked just fine and read all my save data. Also, the links to the missing codec file to play the cutscenes works. Check out their links and it’s as simple as a .
If anyone else is having problme with the black screen during cutscenes, playing the audio of said CGI scenes but not the video, and install Codinstl.
I randomly found a Steam community thread about STAR WARS Galactic Battlegrounds Saga titled ‘”Video not available. Cannot find ‘vids:IV50′ decompressor” FIX’ where the person said to and install Codinstl.

well you can save but you cant load the game and it crash sometimes but you cant load your save game
I ed it but I can’t extract the file and plus I can’t open it, I don’t know why.
the game suddenly crashes, and in addition the saves are null, so it is useless to play it
it works great, well almost great i cant save and cut scenes wont lode. I’ve had this awhile but didn’t wright a review
I don’t know what i’m doing wrong but whenever I try to play I get a message saying “Failed to initialize DIRECTX(R).”
I briefly looked into it but i’m not 100% sure what the issue is so any and all help is appriciated 🙂
