Game Description
My Little Pony: Friendship Gardens is a game for young children that is based on the ‘My Little Pony’ franchise. It was originally developed in 1998 and has been re-issued a number of times. The game starts with the player creating their own pony using a paint box screen to change the colours to their liking. Then the pony is given a name and the player is taken to Ponyland where the game begins. The game starts at a bridge. To the left is the farm where the player gets to know and train their pony. To the right is the pony village. The player starts on the farm where they feed, groom and train their pony. There is a limited supply of food in the inventory to start with and more can be grown or picked from trees. When the pony has grown she will be confident enough to enter the village and have fun with other ponies.

Nostalgia Realm on YouTube is where I got the files, they have links in their bio.
the setup.exe file will not open
You will likely need OTVDM to open it- you can find my very long comment a few pages back for how I got it running.
I can’t find an ISO file anywhere!
Hi, the .ISO file was directly in the “game files” folder in the .RAR file that I ed here. It’s called OGC_My.Little.Pony. It has a ree file in the same folder. Follow the usual directions for emulating ISO files.
I have windows 11. I manage to install the game, but when I finish all the setup I launch the game and a black screen appears and it closes immediately. Ive tried everything but it keeps happening.
Hi! I’m not sure if you saw my long comment about how I got the game running, but if you need more help, you can find me on YouTube under Kasia3127 if you’re interested. You can find my Discord linked there and you’ll be able to message me from there (no need to stay in the server, I’m just happy to help if I can!!)
hey, i would really love to play this game as i playing it at like 3 years old. if any one could help that would be great, i followed sugar lies tips but was met with a black screen after everything. ive been trying for a couple weeks now but ittedly i havent done this in a long time.
Hi!! Sorry for the delay, it’s harder to keep track now that Discus isn’t integrated. I don’t know if it’s frowned upon to add social media or give away that info here but I do to YouTube under Kasia3127 if you’re interested. You can find my Discord linked there and you’ll be able to message me from there (no need to stay in the server, I’m just happy to help if I can!!)
Hi! I really liked the game and Its my first time playing friendship gardens! But have a problem, I dont know if this game allows you to have a savefile or something similar or not :> if anyone knows, can you please anwser me?
I had made a “profile” for the game when working on getting things running, and then a new one when I played the game for YouTube content. When I had opened the game to record, my original profile was there. I don’t believe I did anything to save the game, though I’d encourage you to look around in the book that has your pony info, diary, etc before closing the game. If there’s an option to close the game from within the menus, I’d use that. It’s been about a year so I don’t fully .
Got it to work following sugarlies tips. I did not need dgvoodoo. It ran just fine on my older windows 10 laptop. Otvdm is a must. It wouldn’t have worked without it.
So glad it worked, and yes! Otvdm is super important because Windows will tell you that you can’t run this program on your pc and give you 0 options to work around. That program has been a lifesaver lol, happy gaming!!!
Game does not work. it does not as a Zip file or anything else other than a Chrome file that just repeats the process over and over.
I was able to it successfully just now so there were either server issues or something odd happened on your end- worth another shot 🙂
won’t let me even start setup, nothing pops up 🙁
Hey! I had left a long comment explaining how I got this game running fully, just some weird text issues where you type your name and things like that. You’ll have to go back a bit but you’ll be able to tell because it’s a huge comment 🙂

Does anyone know how I can run this on my MacBook?
Hi, everyone in the comments! I’ve also been trying to get this game to run for a while without a virtual machine (my motherboard is incompatible with them, rip). I finally got somewhere and was able to actually get into the game!
I am breaking this up into large steps as some parts of the process require several steps within them. I tried to break it up by each program you have to use.
1. I use WinCDEmu to mount ISO files. Be sure this ISO is always mounted when you want to play, or else it will ask you to put the disc in. I usually turn on “keep drive after restart,” until I am sure I want to be done with the ISO and eject it manually (right click the drive in Windows explorer and select “eject”).
2. I use OTVDM to run 16-bit applications so that I can run the installer without Windows 10 telling me I cannot run it on this device. Once OTVDM is installed, you don’t need to ever interact with it for it to work. It simply just makes 16-bit applications open properly (and you’ll see a command prompt box open when you go to use these applications).
3. I used DGVoodoo to get the game to a place where it’s usable. Normally, the different aspects like the butterfly and your cursor would leave a trail wherever they went. DGVoodoo got rid of this. You want to grab all four of the .dll files from DGVoodoo for DirectX games. This means you’ll go to the DGVoodoo folder > MS > x86, and copy the files. Paste those .dlls into the main install folder for the MLP game (it will have “Pony.exe” in the folder, along with folders for data, music, photos, and videos). You can then open DGVoodoo from its original location (it’s called dgVoodool.exe) so we can edit the settings for the game. You’ll see a dropdown at the top called “Config folder/Running instance.” Next to the drop down, press the “Add” button and select the main My Little Pony folder where “Pony.exe” is contained. I have to do this twice for it to work for some reason, but you know it worked when you see the correct folder showing in that drop down instead of the one that was there when you opened it. I attached two screenshots that show the settings needed for DGVoodoo. You can ignore the “Glide” tab since this game uses DirectX and not 3Dfx Glide.
4. Not really a step, as the game should work normally from here! You should be able to just open the program as you normally would and get into the game. 🙂 I did have it crash on me one time when I finally went to Ponyland, but then I adjusted my settings in DGVoodoo and haven’t come across it since.
IMPORTANT: The only other thing I wanted to mention is that the text was still wonky, but I was able to type names and figure out what entries I was selecting for my birth month and day. Do not be alarmed if the text is too far to the left for you to read it and has yellow/blue lines on it. I couldn’t figure out a setting to solve this. But the rest of the game works great!
Happy gaming! 🙂

Hello! I shared what worked for me in a long comment just now! Trying to spread the word. 🙂
So, I’ve tried everything, even troubleshooting, and nothing is working. This is what I’m getting, the attached Reply
